Well I thought I had this half term all planned out. Ben has some exciting things on, with swimming lessons and the Set Sail club at North Swindon Baptist Church and we are visiting friends in Surrey later in the week.
However all the plans have been thrown into turmoil after Anthony complained of pain in his calf on Saturday morning. After a quick look at his leg I insisted he call the out of hours clinic, and thank God that I did, as he has 2 clots in his veins. Yes, sadly my hubby has DVT. If it hadn't been for my massage training, I would not have recognised the symptoms, and the consequences of that don't bear thinking about!
So we have spent a good part of the last few days in the Great Western hospital, and I am adminstering Heparin injections nightly until he can get to see the anti-coagulation team (hopefully tommorow) and get some Warfarin. Apparently 3 months of treatment should be enough!
There probably is other news, but to be honest I can't think of any at the moment. Will try and post again soon with something more positive, but for now please just pray for us all!

Yikes - that's not good! Hope he gets well soon and there are no long term repercussions....Give him our best wishes.

I can't believe this! I spent Monday night up at A&E with exactly the same thing... had to have give some blood and have an anti-coag jab and was back up at the hospital yesterday.
Luckily for me the blood test showed everything to be OK but I still need to find out why I'm having calf pain (think it could be sciatic related...).
Poor Anthony but lucky he had you to be able to pick up the warning signs and he can now get the preventative treatment he needs :D
Wow....it's a good job you spotted that Corinna. I do hope his treatment isn't too painful and that he feels better soon. Big {{hugs}} to you too - take care.
