Not quite the weekend I expected!

Well what a difference a few hours makes! Just a few hours after my last post, I was in bed shivering and feeling extremely sick, and when I woke up Saturday morning I was in agony. My back has never hurt that much before (something wrong with my kidneys I think) and my stomach would not stop cramping. Knew what it was as hubby had the bug on Tuesday, but that didn't help much, knowing that we were supposed to be going to London!

Did manage to get myself organised enough to crawl into the car & fell out the other end into the hotel & went to bed. Not how I envisaged spending our Saturday in London! Woke up mid afternoon feeling a little better & after soaking in a lavender bath I managed to get ready to go out. So bloody typical that we were having dinner in an amazing restaurant and I didn't fancy anything! Managed a steak and a mouthful of Tiramisu for pudding (plus a glass of champagne it has to be said - well the bubbles help with a bad stomach!) and then it was off to the theatre.

What can I say, Joseph was AMAZING!!! Lee was brilliant which made all those weekends of voting worthwhile! Oh, and for most of it he is wearing an extremely short loincloth, which made for a most enjoyable evening!

Felt much better by the time the show had ended so we walked about half way back to the hotel & then grabbed a cab as it was raining. Had a drink in the very ornate lounge bar & went to bed. Slept really well (unusual for me in a hotel) and didn't wake up until 9.00am. Bliss!!!

After the latest breakfast I have ever eaten we set off to do some of the local geocaches. Can't believe how many there are in London, but hardly any are to find treasure, most of them are to find a landmark or some piece of information.

We managed to do 5, taking in several pubs (and no we didn't stop for a drink), Westminster Abbey, Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament, the Cenotaph, Great Scotland Yard, Horseguards, Downing Street and New Scotland Yard, before we realised that if we didn't get back to the hotel we were never going to make it back to Swindon for my Kentwood rehearsal.

Amazingly the hotel only charged us £12 parking for 24 hours, and given its location, we will definately be staying there again. You could walk to Covent Garden easily if it wasn't raining!

Not quite the romantic anniversary weekend away I anticipated! Oh well, at least it gives us an excuse to go again soon!!
