I'm Back!

Was it really only 6 days ago that I was sitting in the sun sipping an iced tea?

I'm sat here listening to the rain pounding on my skylight and the thunder rumbling and wondering what on earth our autumn and winter are going to be like if this is summer!

Italy was wonderful. Glorious weather, stunning food and best of all the kids were great, so it actually felt like a holiday! I managed to take over 100 pics in 6 days - thank goodness we are digi! Here are just a few to give you a taste of our holiday.

It has been a busy week since we got home. Ben had sports day (thank goodness it wasn't today!) and managed a very respectable 2nd in the relay and 4th in the skipping (I didn't even know he could skip :o) ). Unfortunately for me they also had a parents race, which was not the gentle jog I anticipated but a full on competitive sprint - not something I am usually willing to do! But I didn't disgrace myself, and actually managed 3rd place (and no that wasn't out of 3!!)

Samuel had a teddy bear's picnic to meet all his nursery classmates and get familiar with the classroom. He had a great time doing playdoh, threading,
colouring, playing with the farm & having his face painted like a teddy. I don't think I have any worries about whether he will enjoy it or not!

And what a mad weekend we have in front of us! I am getting "buck naked with Jools" at Paperarts - no I'm not exactly sure what it means either, but I promise you it is scrapping related! And Benjamin has not 1 but 2 birthday parties to attend while I am there.

Then I am rushing home and we are heading to Milton Keynes to see the wonderful G4 at Proms In The Park (part of Benjamin's birthday present). Please, please let it have stopped raining by then, otherwise the boys first experience of a prom concert is not going to be a fun one! At least we don't have to worry about carrying too much, as we have opted to have the expensive but very scrummy picnics that are provided at the concert. So all we have to worry about is the obligatory bottle of champagne (although to be honest I think a flask of coffee might be a better bet) and some chairs. It can't be any wetter than the last night of the the proms concert in Hyde Park in 2005 - can it?????

Think Sunday might have to be a lazy morning (if we can get away with it) as we won't be home until gone midnight. But I can't rest too much as we have choir rehersal in the afternoon, and since we haven't had one for ages, there are no excuses for not going!!

Aaaaah, a holiday, oh how I wish...

Thanks for driving me to PA on Saturday - even if it took 2 hours and we would have been better off in a boat for some of the trip!!! LOL
