Proud Mummy Moment

Getting Benjamin to tell me anything about his day at school is like getting blood out of a stone, but since he went up to Bumblebees (Year 1) he seems a bit more willing to talk about it, e.g I actually found out that they not only did PE today, but played Traffic Lights!

However my proud Mummy moment came on Tuesday (only his second day back at school). When I went to pick him up after school he flew at me and said (with the most excited expression I have ever seen on his face)"Guess what Mummy?" Well I had no idea what on earth could have gotten him so worked up so I just said "I don't know sweetheart, tell me".

His next words bowled me over. "I'm on the school council" came his reply.

I didn't know what to do with myself. I can tell you that I was so proud of him I felt I would burst and I wanted to shout it to the world. It may not seem like much to most people, but given that he isn't at the school we would have orignally chosen for him, I am so thrilled that something like this has happened. And best of all, he was elected by having the most votes from his classmates - 16 in total, which means that over half the class voted for him! He has a fellow councillor from his class called Megan and he has already told me that he is happy to be working with her!

Will I always feel this proud of his achievements? If so, the feeling beats anything I have ever achieved for myself!!
